Nude & Noir Makeup Review

Nude & Noir is a eco-conscious brand that is 100% vegan and cruelty-free! I love the idea of using only natural healthy things on my skin, but I also wonder if I am sacrificing performance and style to do so. Once I found out about Nude & Noir I couldn’t wait to try it.

As a makeup artist I definitely love to try new makeup but I am also super picky since what I use has to withstand harsh conditions (outdoor elements & hot lights) and needs to photograph and film beautifully.

The founders of Nude & Noir, Ashley - a seasoned makeup artist in the fashion industry, and Hartley - a modeling veteran whom has traveled the globe with some of the top brands. Two people who know the industry and know makeup. Does their vegan, eco-conscious product stand up??

After using their products for several months now both personally and onset for photo & video shoots, I can happily say YES!!

I have 3 of their multi use eye/lips/cheek pallets - Bijou, Point Break, & Reserve. I also have their newest lip to cheek palette called Kiss my Cheek.

All the pallets have beautiful color pay off. The lip colors are super creamy & smooth. The darkest lip/cheek colors are less opaque then I originally thought they’d be. But this was a happy surprise to me since I like versatility in the products I use. I love that one swipe of the color is a beautiful color wash but if you add more you can build up to a more opaque coverage. So much fun to play with these products! You can really create so many beautiful looks.

The eye colors are gorgeous & blend out easily. These do have coconut oil in them so they can be firm to the touch until warmed up. I warm them up with either my finger or my blow dryer using the low setting.

Once they are warmed up you can apply them with your finger, brush or sponge.

All the products are made with plant-based oils, waxes, & butters so just like any creamy based product, they do need to be set with powder & or setting spray for longevity. For the eye shadows, I will set the shadows with either a translucent powder, or a complimentary eye shadow color. This will help prevent creasing of a creamier eye shadow.

Overall I am 100% happy with Nude & Noir products. I highly recommend to any one looking for clean chemical free makeup and want to help support a small business that cares about mother earth.
