Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

I recently attended the America’s Beauty Show in Chicago. It was a whirlwind weekend filled with billowing hair spray clouds, bumping music, runway shows, & flashy stage demonstrations! So yeah, it was fun!

I did come home with some fun new products to add to my ever growing stash of hair & makeup goodies!

I spent a lot of time at the Amika booth and bought several of their products to try.

Here is my take on their Perk Up Dry Shampoo....

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

First Impressions

Smell: is very nice! It is floral but not super flowery. Soft & sweet without being to powerful.

Application: It is super easy to apply, just section hair and spray at roots from 8-12” away. Let dry for a minute or so and then finger or brush through hair as desired.

I will say that they claim this product will NOT leave a white residue on dark hair. But I have found that it does leave a sight chalky white residue right after application. However this seems to disappear after a few minutes or once you brush though it.

Does it work? Yes, I think this product does what it claims. It does ‘perk up’ the hair, it absorbs oils, & leaves a nice soft scent.

Overall impression

I really do like this product. It works and smells great. I can’t ask for much for then that. Unlike other dry shampoos I was able to extend my hair style for an extra day with this product. Usually I can only go a day maybe two between washes with other products before my hair just looses all style & body. With Perk Up I was able to go two to three days in-between washes while still feeling like my hair looked fresh.

I have several other Amika products, which I will also review eventually. Just so everyone is aware, all the Amika products have the same scent / ingredient. They call it “super-fruit” Sea Buckthorn Berry. So, make sure you like the scent otherwise you won’t be happy with any of their products, smell-wise!

Until next time.. CHEERS!
